Dental caries, or cavities, are common in children. Sugary foods and poor brushing lead to bacteria that damage teeth.

- Too much sugar intake leads to tooth decay
- If primary teeth are affected severely pulpectomy is recommended.
- In the initial stages, tooth decay can be treated with GIC restoration.
- Proper brushing is recommended in children during the morning and night.
- Less sugar intake of food can be recommended.
- The bottle should be removed after bottle feeding.
- Fluorinated toothpaste should be recommended as a preventive measure.
- Dental clinic visits should be for every 6 months.
